This is a reference implementation of VisualIDs in C using the Cairo
graphics-library, and is intended to ultimately be portable to whatever
platforms Cairo supports.

This software is based on the essay:

VisualIDs: Automatic Distinctive Icons for Desktop Interfaces

by J.P. Lewis et al. The original essay and supplementary material
can be found at J.P. Lewis' website:

This software is Free Software, licensed under the GNU GPL--for more
information, see the file, COPYING.

Note: as the "0.1" version-number would indicate, this should be taken
as BETA software--interfaces and functionality are still fairly volatile.
